Festival de la Francophonie 2024: Celebrate the diversity of the French language with Alliance française de Paris
From October 2 to 6, 2024, “Refaire le monde, le Festival de la francophonie”, takes place at the Gaîté Lyrique for a new edition rich in events around the French language and its many expressions around the world.
The Alliance française de Paris is delighted to be taking part in several of the highlights of this major cultural event, as part of its “Ecrire en français - histoires de langues, voyages de mots” exhibition.

Wednesday, October 02 - Literary Workshop “Parler De Soi Et Vice-Versa” with Estelle-Sarah Bulle
Estelle-Sarah Bulle, French writer (Basses-terres, 2024; Les étoiles les plus filantes, 2021; Les fantômes d'Issa, 2020; Là où les chiens aboient par la queue, 2018), will lead this writing workshop during which each participant is invited to meet their neighbor and take up the pen to talk about themselves, and vice-versa!
Thursday, October 03 - “Calligraphie Métissée” workshop with Saena Delacroix-Sadighiyan
This workshop is led by Saena Delacroix-Sadighiyan (France-Iran), scriptwriter (First Editions, (une nuit), 2022) and calligrapher (chair of calligraphy at the Institut des Cultures d'Islam in Paris): after an introduction to the uses of polyphony in comics, Saena Delacroix-Sadighiyan guides the young audience through the creation of an individual final work using signs common to different alphabets (Latin, Arabic-Persian, Hebrew)
Friday, October 4 - “Language(s) and place(s) of memory” writing workshop led by Hella Feki
A workshop led by Hella Feki, Franco-Tunisian writer and teacher of literature (Les noces de Jasmin, Livre de poche 2020), in which participants are invited to write, together and with several hands, a text on spaces that are dear to them.
Saturday, October 5 - “Carnet de voyage francophone” writing workshop, led by Chadia Chaïbi-Loueslati
A workshop led by Chadia Chaïbi-Loueslati, illustrator and comic book author (Nos vacances au bled, Marabulles, 2019; Oum Kalthoum : naissance d'une diva, Lattes, 2023), who will invite participants to create their own watercolor travel diaries based on words chosen by them.
Saturday, October 5 - Bernard Magnier's Literary Jukebox
A literary jukebox proposed by the Alliance française de Paris and hosted by Bernard Magnier, literary journalist, lecturer, creator of the “Lettres Africaines” collection published by Actes Sud and curator of the “Écrire en français” exhibition at the Alliance Française de Paris. During this meeting, the public is invited to ask Bernard Magnier about a selection of authors whose works are presented at the Gaîté Lyrique's French-language bookshop, in order to discover these French-language works that are often little-known in France. Like a jukebox, the audience chooses, and Bernard Magnier narrates!
Sunday October 6 - Writing workshop with Omar Youssef Souleimane
Omar Youssef Souleimane (France/Syria), Franco-Syrian journalist, poet and writer: an intimate, difficult and life-changing experience. Travel always offers us an unforgettable story through which we may or may not evolve. But this story remains etched in our memory. This workshop gives us the opportunity to share it and/or understand it better.
