On 23 June 1893, at the Sorbonne University, Pierre de Coubertin brought together the key players in world sport with the intention of reviving the Olympic Games. The gamble paid off, as the modern Olympic Games were born in Athens in 1894. And of course, next year, Paris will host the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad! 

On 23 June 2023, in France and around the world, we will be celebrating Olympic Day.
