French evaluation test for Canada

Purpose of this test

Test required by the Department of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada for an immigration file in Canada, including the province of Quebec.

Attestation valid for 2 years.

Test process

The TEF Canada is divided into 3 tests:

  • Multiple choice computer questionnaire
  • Written production
  • Oral maintenance
  • Duration of the test

  • Written expression: 60 minutes
  • Oral expression: 15 minutes
  • Dates of the tests

  • July 10, 2020
  • (Registration until June 12)

  • September 18, 2020
  • (Registration until August 7)

  • November 6, 2020
  • (Registration until October 2nd)

    Results are available 4 to 5 weeks after the test

    Online registration will open on 18 May. (This date is subject to change at a later date).

    Instructions that must be complied with in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic

    You will find hereafter the welcome instructions to be respected in order to have access to the test/examination room:
  • Candidates must wash their hands before entering our premises.
  • Candidates are required to wash their hands before signing the sign-in sheet.
  • Wearing a mask is mandatory for all candidates.
  • Candidates bring their own pens.
  • Candidates will be required to present their identity document at the time of the identity checks themselves and at a distance.
  • Hydroalcoholic gel is mandatory. Candidates will be asked to use it before the beginning of the test and before handing in the copy.

    If these rules are not respected, it will unfortunately be impossible for us to allow you access to the test/examination room.
