French Evaluation Test (TEF) All public (TP)
The Alliance Française de Paris is a TEF test center.
Ask your questions about the exams on Wednesdays, October 10th, November 13th, and December 11th, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the Student Life Office in the convivial space of the Alliance Française of Paris.
Presentation
The Test d'Évaluation de Français (TEF) is an international reference test that measures your level of knowledge and skills in French.
The validity of results is two years.
The TEF is officially recognized by :
> the French Ministry of Education,
> the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation,
> the French Ministry of the Interior.
Program
The TEF TP consists of 5 tests:
> Written comprehension: 60 min – 50 questions
> Oral comprehension: 40 min – 60 questions
> Written expression: 60 min – 2 topics
> Lexicon and structure: 30 min – 40 questions
> Oral Expression: 15 min - 2 topics
All tests are computer-based.
Target audience
The TEF TP allows any candidate (student, professional, learner of French) to test their level of French from A1 to C2.
Officially recognized since 2004 by the French Ministry of Education, the TEF assesses the written and oral French language skills of all foreign students applying for undergraduate studies in France. The TEF also allows students to apply for a residence permit (level A2) or for citizenship (level B1).
Practical information
The test is possible regardless of your level of French. The result certificate is dematerialized and will be made available 4 to 6 weeks after the test is taken. It is possible to take the test as many times as you wish, provided that you respect a waiting period of thirty days between two attempts, regardless of the type of TEF.
This exam is reserved for adults (18 years old minimum), and it is mandatory to present an original identity document for all parts of the exam.
