  • [LITERARY ENCOUNTER] A meeting with Nancy Huston - Tuesday, May 18th - 7pm

Famous writer Nancy Huston spent her childhood in Canada, her teenage years in the States, and her adult life in France. She is an author who writes both in French and English. Novels, kids books, poetry, theatre... she has received many awards for her writings over the years such as the Goncourt des Lycéens or the Prix Femina. Her works have mainly been published by Editions Actes Sud in France and Leméac in French Canada. 

On the occasion of her last book’s release in January 2021, Je suis parce que nous sommes, (re)discover this great writer during an interview led by Sophie Joubert, cultural journalist at L'Humanité.

  • [CONFERENCE] Tintin, a journey through the 20th century - Benoît Peeters - Wednesday, May 26th - 6.30pm

Tintin, worldwide fampus comic book hero, was created in 1929 by Belgian cartoonist Hergé. From America to Asia and even the moon, the many adventures of this intrepid young hero have fascinated children and parents alike for generations. Though Hergé grew up in a conservative family and did not travel much, he managed to create a character with universal values whose stories remain timeless. 

Travel through the 20th century and learn more about the fascinating world of Hergé during this lecture by Benoît Peeters, writer, scriptwriter and Tintin specialist.
